Sty(LUX) Chronicles: Swaggin on Social Media.

6 May

So, over the past few weeks I’ve been signing up for all these cool social networks. Stylux is officially “social media swaggin”!! Due to the fact that these social networks have apps & allow you to link other social networks together, staying up to date & consistent is that much easier.

So, I already had a personal twitter that I sometimes tweet about Stylux, but not often. Then the idea came that Stylux needed a twitter.

Before WordPress came into play, I’ve always had an Instagram. The things that don’t quite make it to the blog gets posted on Instagram.

Around the end of March, I generated a page designated for Stylux. Some of my beautiful followers from all my social networks are liking Stylux on Facebook.
Like Stylux?

How cool is this? On Poshmark, you get to shop my personal closet! I’ve listed a few things in my Poshmark that are up for sale. But here’s the catch, you can only shop my closet if you have the iPhone or iPad app, or online here:

A White T Weekend!

5 May

Happy May! I know I’m like 4 days late, but better late then never. I’m finally able to catch my breath & get my thoughts straight. It’s like I’m forever doing a million and five things! But that’s neither here nor there.
This weekend was extremely awesome! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a couple cool people. I’ve met with the owner and founder of a new online store Dear Laney (make sure you check out they’re cool vintage pieces), & you won’t believe this. I ran into Dylana, from Color Me Nana and the face of Free People!! I can’t believe it, I’m still in shock!
In the meantime I paired up with Eboni over at The Fashionista Next Door for her highly anticipated Style Me Friday. This weeks inspiration was your basic white t shirt.

(My complete outfit is from Target, including the shoes. The ribbon belt and clutch are thrifted.)

My baby cousin couldn’t get over the silver tip on my pumps. He just kept pointing.

Here’s Cali, the owner & founder of Dear Laney, and Dylana from Color Me NaNa. How cool are they, well WE? Hahaa.

Brighten up, it’s Spring!

27 Apr

Happy Saturday! So, I haven’t posted in a couple days & this isn’t good. I’ve been super busy. With finals slowly approaching, then on top of that I took more hours in at work, I’m just a disaster waiting to happen. I’m so upset because I haven’t had the time to Link Up with Eboni for Style Me Friday. Even though I have 5 more days in link in, this just isn’t me.

On to lighter things (or brighter things), I did manage to “get my life” & brighten it with these great neon green pants. Yeah, I’m a repeat offender, I know. Cause I’ve worn these pants in a previous post. Guilty!

Sty(LUX) Chronicles: Uncut & Exposed!

24 Apr

Ok, so you all know I’m a fashion junkie. But there are some things you don’t know about me. I’ve listed in a previous post a few facts about myself. But there’s way more to me that just 11 facts. I’m pretty interesting, I think.

>Orange, green, & yellow are my favorite colors. (In that order)
>I’m 22 years old.
>I share the same birthday as Michael Jackson!!!
>I’m the BIGGEST CRY BABY! I’m so sensitive.
>Majority of everything I wear is from Target.
>I’m Obsessed with my mom. She’s so funn!!
>I Hate concerts.
>It takes me a million times to take one perfect picture!
>I’m a horrible cook.

That’s. few more to add to the list. In between so many post, I’ll post some more fun facts. Here are some “behind the scenes” pics. Just to prove how much of a whiner, crybaby, goof, and cornball I actually am.

All these pictures are unedited. Not touched at all! So this is K Jay uncut & exposed!
Happy Hump Day!!

Sty(LUX) Chronicles: Steal vs. Splurge

23 Apr

Shopping alongside our favorite celebrities would be pure heaven. But unfortunately our pockets & the Kardashians pockets just aren’t on the same level (or maybe yours are). That doesn’t stop us from having & looking just like our favorite celebrities. There are some designers who are on our side.. & thank God for them.

Here are some of my favorite designer items, that just so happen to have copy cats right in my price range.

Valentino Roctstud Pump $895 | Sole Society Margie Pump $50
Christian Louboutin Fifi $1,195 | Windsor Smith Pixie Pump $50

Charlotte Olympia Box Clutch $1,079 | Zara Neon Box Clutch $36
Alexander McQueen Skull Clutch $2,295 | Boohoo Skull Clutch $89
Harvey Nichols Messenger $175 | Charlotte Russe Messenger $20

Craving & Raving, Neon + Color.

23 Apr

So now it’s official, it’s Spring. The weather here in Philly has definitely been demonstrating that. In a previous post, I vowed to add color to my outfits. That touch of color adds so much personality & attitude to a look. Whether its your shoes, a statement necklace full of color, or a simple colored belt for that added pop.

I’ve always been a fein for green & orange, but now neons and color in generally has been slowly but surely making its way into my closet.

Here are just a few of the “neon” things I’m lusting over…

Monochromatic: The Silver Edition.

20 Apr

Ok so, this might have been the hardest for me to do. Today I’m Linking Up with Eboni over at The Fashionista Next Door for Style Me Friday & this week’s inspiration was Monochromatic. The directions specifically said to stare away from your typical black & white (which is what my closets are full of).

This week my inspiration came from Pintrest, where I simple typed in silver pants. Simple right?! But I fell in love with this look because it played both sides: feminine with a tough of ruggedness.

Outfit Details:
Shirt Alloy (old)
Pants Urban Outfitters
Shoes Just Fab
Clutch Prabal Gurung for Target
Accessories BCBG, Fossil, Target

Now head on over to The Fashionista Next Door & see how the other ladies styled they’re Monochromatic.
